Senior DevOps Engineer
About CPMStar, an Aditude company
CPMStar is one of the longest-standing and most trusted SSPs in gaming and entertainment. As part of Aditude, we serve billions of ad impressions monthly through a fully bare metal infrastructure, designed for performance, control, and cost efficiency at global scale. We operate without managed cloud services, which means we solve hard problems the right way—with real system-level engineering. We’re hiring a Senior Systems & DevOps Engineer to help scale our infrastructure and maintain our ad-serving backbone with performance, reliability, and precision.
The Role
You’ll be the technical owner of systems that power our high-throughput ad exchange and bidding infrastructure. This includes managing deployments, optimizing performance across hundreds of dedicated servers, and driving operational excellence across the stack. You’ll work closely with backend engineers, contributing where needed in C#, and have the opportunity to work in or support systems written in Golang, especially around our Prebid Server integrations.
What you'll do:
- Operate and scale a large bare metal server fleet supporting ad serving, Prebid Server, log processing, and internal APIs.
- Own infrastructure automation, service orchestration, configuration management, and deployment pipelines (think Bash, Ansible, systemd—not EKS).
- Monitor and improve performance across networking, disk I/O, CPU, and memory layers.
- Diagnose production issues end-to-end: from system metrics and kernel logs to application performance.
- Support backend engineers in running and deploying C#-based services, helping to ensure operational health and observability.
- Drive improvements in uptime, failover, capacity planning, and real-time system monitoring.
- Collaborate on performance benchmarking, load testing, and system-level optimizations.
- Contribute to new infrastructure initiatives and prepare our systems for continued scale.
What we're looking for:
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles managing large-scale production infrastructure.
- Proven experience managing bare metal Linux servers at scale — from provisioning to monitoring to incident response.
- Deep knowledge of Linux internals, networking (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP), and performance profiling tools.
- Experience building or maintaining automation via Bash, Ansible, Terraform (for non-cloud use), or similar.
- Familiarity with C# and .NET Core — you can read and support backend engineers working in it.
- Experience or strong interest in Golang is a major plus, especially with Prebid Server or high-performance systems.
- Understanding of ad tech, RTB, OpenRTB, or experience supporting SSPs / ad servers is a significant advantage.
You might be a fit if:
- Have run systems with hundreds of servers, not dozens.
- Prefer digging through system logs and netstat over clicking around a cloud console.
- Thrive in lean, high-ownership environments where uptime and performance are everything.
- Desire to partner closely with backend and product teams to shape infrastructure and architecture.
- Like working on tech that directly supports billions of transactions per day with low latency demands
- Take initiative, own your work end-to-end, and are comfortable in a lean, highly autonomous environment.
- Have a bias for action and move fast to solve urgent problems.
- Go above and beyond with a winner's mindset
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in systems engineering, dev ops, software development, with a focus on supporting C# and Go systems.
- Experience in the ad tech industry or working on ad server projects.
- Strong preference of Golang is a plus.
- Terraform and Kubernetes experience are a huge pluses.
- US citizen based in the United States
Why Join Aditude/CPMSt:
- Fast growing ad technology company
- Competitive compensation + performance bonuses
- Fully remote flexibility with a strong async engineering culture
- Technical ownership in one of the most battle-tested ad platforms in gaming
- Opportunities to influence infrastructure decisions and SSP architecture
- Small team, big impact — your work directly affects billions of monthly ad impressions
